“The Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners understands the risks associated with psychological practice and we work to hold the profession accountable to the public by establishing education, training and practice standards and providing our licensees with the guidance needed to practice according to the law, professional ethics, and clinical best practices. On this page, you will find links to the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) and Nevada Administrative Codes (NAC) that relate to the practice of psychology in Nevada. Please familiarize yourself with these rules and regulations.”

NAC 641 Proposed Changes

  • Following are draft regulations still under consideration by the Board.  To submit written comments, please contact the Board at nbop@govmail.state.nv.us. 
Proposed Regulation R058-19
  • This regulation establishes procedures related to applications for licensure by endorsement.
Proposed Regulation R115-19
  • This regulation establishes procedures related to supervision, payment of supervisees, and closure of a practice.
Proposed Regulation R173-20
  • This regulation requires those teaching or engaging in research to be licensed if providing supervision in a university setting.
Proposed Regulation R174-20
  • This regulation adopts the Code of Conduct of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB).
Proposed Regulation R175-20
  • This regulation removes the term "moral character" from NAC Chapter 641.
Proposed Regulation R121-21
  • This regulation creates procedures to comply with the provisions of Senate Bill 44 (2021) which amends the methods of oversight of a supervisee by a supervisor to include remote technology.
Proposed Regulation R122-21
  • This regulation removes references to behavior analysts and behavior analysis from NAC Chapter 641.
Proposed Regulation R127-21
  • This regulation creates procedures to comply with the provisions of Assembly Bill 327 (2021), which requires at least 2 hours of continuing education relating to cultural competency and diversity, equity, and inclusion each renewal period.
Proposed Regulation R128-21
  • This regulation creates procedures to comply with the provisions of Assembly Bill 366 (2021) which defines the term "training activity" and interprets the term "recording" for those purposes.
